Announcing the Genuine Racing GT1 Challenge!

OVERVIEW

Top class GT racing returns as the Genuine Racing GT1 Challenge is back! The series was cancelled originally at the end of last year, but will now run again in a proper sprint format. It will now be the GT1 equivalent of GT Masters, using the exactly same format: 24 hours of pre-qualifying from Friday evening to Saturday evening, followed by the main event consisting of a 20 minute long qualifying session and a roughly 75 minute long race. The key differences to what you saw earlier this year in GTM are that we've tweaked some things based on the feedback we received from the competing drivers, especially when it comes to the way multiple grids work. There will still be two servers, but points will be awarded for overall positions with all classified cars of Server 2 being placed behind all classified cars in Server 1. For example: If 20 cars are classified on the first server, the winner on the second server will be classified in 21st position. That way, it actually is an advantage to pre-qualify yourself into Server 1 and it will also be rewarded accordingly. All teams and drivers are welcome to participate in the series, there is no limit on how many drivers may race for a team, but only the best two drivers of a team can score points towards the team's standings in each round.

Announcing the Genuine Racing GTi Trophy!

Genuine Racing's GTi Trophy returns! After the very successful inaugural season in the autumn of last year, we're happy to announce the comeback of what already then was a very popular series. The format will be similar to that seen last year, with the event being split over three days, pre-qualifying on the first two and the main event including qualifying and the race(s) on the third. What has changed though is the amount of track time: For the main event, qualifying has been reduced from 20 minutes to 15 minutes, with the race distance has been extended to about 60 minutes for each event. The race formats will follow the Turbo Trophy approach from last year: In three of the six events we will see one 60 minute long feature race, in the other three we will see two 30 minute long sprints.
To give as many people as possible the chance to race, we will again be using two grids for all events where the demand for it requires it. Unlike in previous seasons, the grids will be split evenly, meaning that we will try to always make sure there are an equal amount of cars on both servers.

As has become standard for our events, pre-qualifying will take place from Friday 18:00 UTC to Saturday 18:00 UTC. The main event will take place on Sunday, with qualifying starting at 17:45 UTC, the (first) race at 18:10 UTC and the second race (if applicable) at 18:45 UTC.

As always, all LFS drivers and teams are welcome to compete! There will again be a drivers' and teams' championship on the line, with the two top-scoring drivers from each event getting the points for the teams' standings, regardless of their grid.

Announcing the Genuine Racing GT Masters!

OVERVIEW

The majority of you voted for it, and now, it's back! The Genuine Racing GT Masters is back and hopes to return to its glory-days for the new season. The 3rd season of the championship will see a lot of continuity to the 2013 edition, but with some key changes being made to make the league easier to handle for the drivers.

The 24h-long qualifying sessions are being ditched in favour of a pre-qualifying session to determine who will be on the grid and a 20-minute qualifying session on raceday. Races will also be shorter than previously, being limited to a length of 75 minutes instead of 300 kilometres. Additionally, should the attendance require it, there is the possibility of a second grid which will race on the same day at exactly the same time, but for half points. What stays the same are the cars! After the very successful debut for GT2-spec cars in the GT Masters series all that's being changed about them are the restrictions in an attempt to create a level-playing field. Just like before, we'll be looking for a driver's and team's champion, but there will also be an unofficial cup for the drivers of each separate car model.

To go along with the championship itself, we will bring back our public GT2 server which will run several of the tracks used in the championship. This is something we've done previously, with the latest example being the public server antics before last year's Turbo Trophy. Through this we intend to make the championship more accessable for drivers who would otherwise not find out about it so easily, but also as a practice for racing against your championship opponents.

All teams and drivers are welcome to participate in the series, there is no limit on how many drivers may race for a team, but only the best two drivers of a team can score points towards the team's standings in each round.

This might be in the narrow, tight turns of South City or on the open fast roads of Westhill, it is known there will be many battles on the 6 tracks to hold the GTi Trophy of 2013. To even up the pace a success ballast will be in place for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place drivers. Throught the series a drivers championship and a team championship will be running. The event will consist of six 40 minute races, starting with the LFS Standing start and 1 compulsary pit stop.

Announcing the Genuine Racing GT Masters!

OVERVIEW

This new league draws inspiration from the FIA GT1 World Championship (however, not by using GT3 spec cars), aswell as some minor things from Indycars, creating a single driver, long and challenging series. It's again a single class, now 100% safety car free GT1 league using the Super GT GT500 car restrictions, where strategy will play a big role, since all races are limited to 300 km, meaning that over the different range of tracks they will be between 95 and 110 minutes long. There will be a Driver's Championship, a Team's Championship and a Makes Trophy for the highest finisher with each car model.

In comparison to the GT1 Challenge the qualifying procedure has also changed. Qualifying will now be taking place directly before the race, having the field split into two groups, running qualifying after another, with the overall results then setting the grid for the race.

All LFS drivers and teams are welcome enter the league. Any team may enter any number of cars between 1 and 4. However, remember that numbers are assigned to teams, not to cars or drivers. To be accepted you need to upload a hotlap with your chosen car to any non-open configuration track on the season schedule.

Welcome to the Genuine Racing Turbo Trophy!

OVERVIEW

Genuine Racing return to their routes by organising our first TBO series for a very long time, with 6 events spread over roughly 3 to 4 months, visiting a number of very diverse tracks, making sure that there will be plenty of action. The 6 events will be evenly split up between two formats: A 20 minute qualifying session followed by two 45 minute long races, or a 20 minute qualifying followed by a 90 minute long race which is worth double the amount of points. The top 3 overall finishers of each event will receive success ballast to stop any driver from winning the championship in no time at all.
And it's not just a championship that's there for the taking, as thanks to our sponsor 'Van Der Mark Transport Rotterdam', there will also be money prizes for the podium finishers in the driver's championship at the end of the season, namely 30 for the winner, 20 for second and 10 for third. Should any of our members be eligible for one of the prizes, that prize will be donated to a charity.

The series will use the proven format of GT1 Challenge. Pre-Qualifying, to determine the 30 drivers for each event, will take place from Thursday to Saturday, while the main event itself, including qualifying and the race (or races), will take place on Sunday.

All LFS drivers and teams are welcome to race! Next to the driver's championship there will also be a team's championship with the two best-scoring drivers scoring points towards it in each event.
